Shower Replacement – Installing the New Bathtub Liner

Portland Shower replacement can be very expensive if you are not careful when shopping for the right products and a company that can provide the services that are right for you. Shower replacement usually will cost you somewhere in the neighborhood of $1000 to $5000. The cost to replace a complete shower is usually around $4,500. Shower prices do vary depending on a few factors. One of the biggest factors is whether you are replacing your whole shower or just part of it. Replacement of a whole shower usually costs more because you have to replace all of the parts including the shower head, traps, jets, hoses and any other essential shower accessories.

Shower Replacement

If you are replacing just a part of the shower then you are probably looking for something that will fit into the space you have available for your bathroom. If you are replacing a full shower then you are in luck because there are many companies that now offer custom showers. A custom shower can be designed to fit into any corner of your bathroom as long as the plumbing is correct and everything is installed properly. Custom showers will usually require some plumbing work to be done around the pipes, so if you are on a tight budget this may not be the best option for you. There are also companies that offer prefabricated models so you do not have to worry about putting the pieces together yourself.

One of the newest showers that is becoming more popular today is the walk-in shower. These types of showers are built into the wall in your bathroom and come with a nice shower tray and door surround. These units are more expensive than the traditional models but they are designed to be functional for people that have limited mobility. A walk-in model will have a lower center of gravity and will be easier to install in any sort of bathroom that does not have a built-in unit.

Another popular option that is becoming popular for shower/toilet replacement is a handicap accessible bathtub. The most common type of handicap accessible bathtub is the acrylic version. Acrylic is made up of fiberglass mesh that can be fitted to your existing bathtub. Fiberglass mesh is very tough and is resistant to cracking and breaking; however, the acrylic models are more resistant to cracking. Both types of models are lightweight and easy to clean so people that might have problems with their joints or flexibility should consider an acrylic model.

If you do not have a handicap accessible bathtub then you may need to install a handicap enclosure. There are several different enclosures to choose from such as a folding door, folding enclosure, or even a door with a swing away cover. Each of these options has their own set of benefits and drawbacks. The door with the swing away cover is the easiest to use and can usually be installed by non-professionals.

Shower Replacement is a fairly simple process and can be completed in a matter of minutes without too much inconvenience. Just add the liner and tub and you are good to go. Make sure that when you replace your bathtub liner you also install a waterproof liner that will protect your new liner from any leaking that may occur due to inclement weather.
